Vision

The College envisions itself to be a college of choice that is responsive to shaping ideal professional teachers through extensive programs and impactful educational research steered in a conducive learning environment for the enhancement of quality instruction, progressive principles, and exemplary values accentuating teaching as the most laudable and noblest of all professions.

Mission

The MSU–Sulu College of Education aspires to attract the most deserving students into the teaching profession imbued with values of lifelong learning, equipped with 21st-century skills, globally competitive, culture-sensitive, and ideal professionals advancing the preservation of the local cultural heritage of Sulu that supports the transformation efforts towards inclusive development; while establishing linkages and pursuing impactful research on Teacher Education, implementing significant curricular programs and initiatives responsive to the needs of Muslims and indigenous groups, and becoming a National University of Peace.

Goals

  1. To fortify innovative and outcome-based instruction with emphasis on 21st-century skills and proficient teacher education;
  2. To keep abreast with the current trends and issues in teacher education curricular landscapes and world-class educational research studies;
  3. To incorporate correct values formation and peace advocacies in its programs and activities; and
  4. To provide quality assurance and excellent services in the college with accreditation readiness of its teacher education programs.

Objectives

  1. Afford students with essential teacher leadership principles, 21st-century skills, and a worldview of continuing professional development as evidence of professionalism and global competitiveness in instruction;
  2. Modernize teacher education instruction and strategize capability building among prospective teachers;
  3. Encourage and support educational research and other related fields;
  4. Develop pre-service trainings and programs promoting intercultural and interfaith understanding, harmony, peace, and development in a pluralistic society;
  5. Function as a vanguard of culture preservation and sound traditions;
  6. Contribute to the peace and development efforts of the country toward realizing MSU as a National University of Peace.
